Well, I hate to spring this on you but today is the last day of summer school. I know what you're thinking, "Hey! The things not done." I know, I know. We're going to continue for the next two weeks, so everyone pray for a miracle. Paul and Marty are gonna stick around until the bloody end which for them will hopefully be next week. After that I don't know. I can only hope that my motivation to finish this blog will hold out. http://picasaweb.google.com/Blackmore.Pavilion/8609#

Yes, were still laying stone. The good news is we've finished the walls and started on the fireplace. The bad news is...... It's huge! I am getting better at finding rocks though which makes life alot easier. Also, I forgot my camera.

The concrete company came and poured the slab today. It's beautiful! It almost looks like there's going to be a building here. I laid stone all day, and that is no fun. Talk about a jigsaw puzzle. http://picasaweb.google.com/Blackmore.Pavilion/72809#

We finally got the fireplace pad poured after yesterdays fiasco. Sara and I set the formwork for the block outs. We discovered that we hammer like girls. http://picasaweb.google.com/Blackmore.Pavilion/72309##

Today was actually a really busy day. We laid about half the rebar for the slab. We were going to get the fireplace slab poured but the framing was the wrong size (that might have been my fault). Dustin had the concrete mixer up there and while he was mixing the latch came undone and concrete spilled everywhere. Also the lady from the Bozeman Chronicle came up to do a story on the project. http://picasaweb.google.com/Blackmore.Pavilion/72209##

Still Excavating

Excavation continues...

Met with Sore Elbow Forge to discuss the details on the cooking element that will house two grills and the hood to go with them.

We Found Water

Excavation continued today. We decided to go ahead and dig down another 10". The original excavation had been done to the top of the footings instead of the bottom. When we did that we found a huge pit of mud and a bunch of water. We tried to dig out the hole and fill it with rock but that didn't seem to fix the problem. The geo-tech came up to look at the soil. He and Bruce will have to work on a course of action.
